Is Enlightenment By Design's Website Safe and Secure?

Of course!! We realise that some of our customers might be worried about using their credit cards on the internet. As a result of this, we offer the following guarantee.

Secure server software encrypts all your personal information, including name, address and credit card details before it leaves your computer. We make use of the highest quality encryption technology available (technically 128 bit SSL encryption). In addition to this, we do not store your credit card information.

In the unlikely event of someone making a purchase from Enlightenment By Design using your card without authorisation, most banks and card issuers will cover all the charges or limit your liability to just £ 50. If your Bank expects you to pay the first £50 of the claim, then we will reimburse you, provided that the unauthorised purchase was made through no fault of your own.

This guarantee only applies to purchases made using Enlightenment By Design's secure server.

All our payment processing is handled by WorldPay, a part of The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Do I need Cookies?

Cookies need to be enabled on your Web Browser for you to be able to shop at Enlightenment By Design. Most web browsers including Internet Explorer have this feature by default, so you should have no problems with Cookies. How do I place an order?

Look for items you want to order

Find products either by using the search bar at the top or by using the sections on the left. You can use the sections on the left to search for products by location - whether you want a light for your ceiling or for outside, for example); or by position - whether you want a light for your ceiling, for your wall or a table lamp (Free Standing).

This will then lead you through some more choices or you can simply click on ALL to see everything that's available for that location or position.

Click on any product picture to see more detailed information.

Add the items to your shopping basket

Type in under Quantity the number you want to order then click the Add to Basket button. You can always see on the left, underneath the Products section, details of your shopping basket - what is in it and a summary of the total cost.

If you get something wrong, you can easily change it by clicking on the Edit Shopping Basket button on the left. There is also a View Basket link at the top of each page. You can change quantities of products you wish to buy or remove products all together.

If you don't want to do all your shopping in one go, Enlightenment By Design remembers the contents of your shopping basket so that you can return to it later.

Checkout

Once you have added all the items you want to order to your shopping basket, you are ready to place your order. Click on the Proceed to Checkout button. We shall then ask you for a few details to enable us to deliver your order to you. We also ask for your email address so that we can contact you to acknowledge your order or, if there is a problem with your order.

Before you finally pay for your order, we shall show you a summary of the order just to make perfectly sure that everything is in order. You can then choose your method of payment using any of the most popular credit/debit cards.

Do I need to pay online or can I pay over the 'phone?

Of course you can pay over the 'phone. Just shop on the Enlightenment By Design website as explained above and when you come to the Summary Page, you can then choose your method of payment. Choose the Pay by 'Phone option and you will see our telephone number.

Confirmation of Order

After you have placed your order, you will receive an email confirming your order. We shall email you again when the items you have ordered have been despatched. We shall also email you if there are any problems with your order.

How and When is my order delivered?

Delivery times

Delivery times vary according to the manufacturer. However, we show how soon we expect to send out your order under Normally despatched in x days. Often we shall deliver before the expected time. Now and again there may just be a delay, but we shall always email you to let you know if your order is delayed.

As we buy straight from the manufacturer and, as manufacturers sometimes close down, say, for 2 weeks in the summer (especially on the continent) and sometimes over Christmas and sometimes at Easter, then there may be times when the delivery time is longer. However, we shall always try to reflect this on the website under Normally despatched in x days.

Delivery Costs

Bulb and accessory orders only : £ 2.95 per order (usually by first-class recorded post)
Light fitting orders (including a bulb order):£ 7.50 per order (usually by carrier)

Where do we deliver?

The above costs apply to the UK Mainland.

For delivery to the Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man. the Channel Islands, the Scilly Isles, Isle of Wight, the Republic of Ireland or Europe, please telephone for details.

What if my item is damaged when I receive it?
